Children’s book author JOANNE ROCKLIN will conduct a workshop on writing the picture book: what it is, how the kids in your life and your childhood memories inform your ideas, the vital importance of its language and illustrations, and how to market it. There will also be some focus on incorporating Jewish themes into your work. Writing, pondering, question-time and sharing will be included in the time together, as well as the later opportunity to form a continuing critique group. Please bring a favorite picture book or two to share, as well as writing materials.
