Temple Sinai Israel Education Committee Presents
Israel at War as Seen from Above & From the Ground: The Reservist Perspective
with Lieutenant Colonel (Reserve) Ben and Lieutenant Colonel (Reserve) Dana
Tuesday, March 26, 7:30pm, Albers Chapel

Lt Col (Reserve) Ben, an IAF F-16 Combat fighter pilot, and Lt. Col (Reserve) Dana, an IDF Army ground combat force officer will share their experiences of being called upon for active reserve duty on October 7th. Ben's account will provide insights from the perspective of an Air Force commander and as viewed from an F-16 fighter jet cockpit.

Dana will share her perspective as a commander of combat intelligence collection units operating inside the Gaza Strip providing real-time critical intelligence to the ‘maneuvering battlefield formations’ (Armor and Infantry).

Ben had a 25-year career at the Israeli Air Force, serving as a combat pilot and later on as the head of Israel Air Force Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) R&D Program (drones).

Dana on the other hand had a 17-year career in the Army fighting units initially as a combatant in the mixed-gender light infantry battalion, one of five mixed-gender battalions of the Border Defense Corps. In 2017 she became the first IDF female deputy battalion commander of the 47th battalion ‘Jordan Valley Lioness’. In 2019 Dana made history by becoming the first IDF female combat battalion commander assigned to the Combat Intelligence Collection Corps responsible for collecting tactical combat intelligence, carrying out reconnaissance, and surveillance missions.
