12:30 PM - 3:30 PMStern Hall“Starter to Nosh” Workshop from Bake Your Own Amazing Bagels
Sunday, May 7, 12:30 – 3:00pm
The Temple Sinai Bakers Guild is pleased to announce its first Intergenerational Baking Club. Teams of people from different generations* (minimum 20 year difference) will learn to make a Jewish baking specialty. Our first instructor, Laurie Leiber, is the creator of Bake Your Own Amazing Bagels. Laurie has taught “ordinary people how to bake extraordinary bagels” for 15 years. Laurie will teach her “Starter to Nosh” workshop—a hands-on class that includes every step from feeding the starter to noshing (snacking) on freshly baked bagels. Participants will take home a detailed recipe, dough to boil and bake the next day, and starter.
To register for this class you can either volunteer as the Oneg Maven** for two Shabbats or pay $118 per participant. Space is limited.
*Sign up with someone from a different generation or let us find you a partner.
**Oneg Mavens arrive by 6:00pm, plate the goodies, arrange the oneg buffet, and package any leftovers. You may opt to contribute to the oneg, but it is not required. Novice mavens are invited to join Laurie Leiber at 6:00pm on any First Friday to learn the ropes.
