Mizmor Shir! Celebrating Israel at 75! 

This service will feature Israeli Shabbat music and the Levona Ensemble celebrating 75 years of Israel in song! Join us for a night of music from Israel and the Middle East.

The Levoná Ensemble combines Middle Eastern and other musical traditions, and weaves them together with stories, both ancient and new. A gathering of diverse talents, each member is accomplished in his own right, having performed as a soloist or in other productions around the state and beyond it for many years. They received the Theatre Bay Area Award for Best Ensemble in 2017 as part of the cast of the musical Love Sick, and have continued to collaborate since then to bring their music to concerts and dance halls around the Bay Area.

The Mercury News describes their music as "Jubilant and mournful… a stirring world-music mix with klezmer clarinet… flamenco guitar… and propulsive drumming.”
