Shabbat Morning Gathering: Reverse Tashlich — Offsite
Saturday, October 1, 2022 • 6 Tishrei 5783
11:30 AM - 2:30 PMOffsiteReverse Taslich
Saturday, October 1, 9:30am, Offsite at a park in Alameda
Who: Tikkun HaYam | Repair the Sea, and Jewish communities around the world including Temple Sinai!
What: A new High Holidays ritual: an international Jewish waterfront cleanup to raise awareness about the deep Jewish connection to water, and reinforce the urgent moral imperative to protect the aquatic environment.
When: Saturday, October 1, 11:30am
Where: At one of the East Bay regional parks in Alameda on the Bay, exact location will be sent out upon registration.
Why: For thousands of years, in a ritual called Tashlich, Jews symbolically cast their sins into a body of water on Rosh Hashanah. For 60 years humans have thrown their "sins" — millions of tons of trash — into bodies of water as well. Join Jewish communities around the world for the 5th Annual Reverse Tashlich, an annual waterfront cleanup, a mitzvah, and a new High Holiday ritual to repair the sea.
