How does one honor the legacy of their Holocaust survivor parents while at the same time recognizing the impact of inherited trauma? Sixteen members of the “Generations After” — an intentional community of memory-keepers at Temple Beth Emeth in Ann Arbor, Michigan — explore this question in their recently published anthology, The Ones Who Remember: Second-Generation Voices of the Holocaust. Join authors Joy Wolfe Ensor, Eszter Gombosi and Ruth Taubman on March 11 at 1:15pm for a book talk in which they will address the gifts and challenges of growing up in the shadow of their parents’ pain, and will describe an arc from suffering to resilience across the generations.
