A Chupah Of Values: A Pathway to a Theology of Sacred Aging

In this conversation we will look at four classic Jewish values that when taken together help create a person-centered theology that speaks to the creative possibilities as well as the challenges of our own "sacred" aging.

Rabbi Richard F Address, D.Min is the founder and director of Jewish Sacred Aging®, the website jewishsacredaging.com and hosts the weekly Seekers of Meaning podcast. Ordained from HUC-JIR in 1972, Rabbi Address has served congregations in California and New Jersey. In addition, he served for 33 years on staff of Union for Reform Judaism as a regional director and then as founder and director of the Department of Jewish Family Concerns. He currently teaches classes in the D.Min program for HUC-JIR in New York, as well as in the program of Certification in Gerontology and Palliative Care for Wurzweiler School of Social Work and an independent study in Jewish Philosophy and Pastoral Care for Aleph seminary. He also serves as co chair of the Interfaith Working Group for Coalition to Transform Advanced Care (C-TAC). He is the author of "Seekers of Meaning: Baby Boomers, Judaism and the Pursuit of Healthy Aging" (Behrman House) and has edited and authored numerous articles and books on issues related to aging spirituality and the impact of longevity on congregations. He is married to Jane Travis-Address and they have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
