Private Tour of a California Native Plant Focused Garden

Join your WTS sisters for a private preview tour of WTS Member Ilene Levinson’s garden in Oakland, featured on this year’s “Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour.” Ilene will welcome us with a description of her journey in getting her garden on this tour, including her composting set-up, raised vegetable beds, “micro-local” spiral garden and metal fish “swimming” down the dry creek. Then, we will have the opportunity to hear from one of the professional Native Plant gardeners who has helped during various phases of development. Both Ilene and the professional will be on hand to answer questions as we walk through the garden at our own pace. Finally, we will meet one of the local authors of “Climate-Friendly Cooking: 105 Recipes to Help Save the Planet” and sample food from this cookbook (which will be available for sale at a discount). Sorry, this event is not wheelchair accessible.
